Team Connolly raises £10k for Wigan and Leigh
Team Connolly would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who made our 48-hour dart-a-thon an absolute success!
With the help of the amazing Andy McNab at CCSUK North and our friends at the St Helens Darts Shop who helped us set up the three oche’s, our “dartists” completely smashed our target of 1.5 million points!
But the real win was the incredible £10,406 raised for Wigan & Leigh Hospice. Every single pound will go directly to their amazing team, providing essential care and comfort to patients and their families in our community, at some of the toughest times of their lives.
Over 100 members of Team Connolly gave their absolute all, with the help of family, friends, and at one point we even had three dogs on site!! It was a real team effort, with people grabbing a couple of hours on camp beds powering through the night to make sure we always had someone at the oche.
As well our people, we had some help from our supply chain partners and have to give a special thanks to Warren Beswick from WBES (OLDHAM) LIMITED Oldham, who was only staying for an hour, but ended up with us nearly all weekend!! We even had some special guests pop in, including Sam and Harvie from the Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club, and Sean Long and Matty Ashurst from Oldham RLFC 1876.
Our CEO, Chris Connolly, said, “I was genuinely overwhelmed by just how much support we got for this event. To all the people who came to throw darts, the family members who turned up to cheer us on and all the people who donated – thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and support.”
