A Big-Hearted Boost for The Strand Community Hub Food Pantry from Connolly and Friends!
The team at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) Strand Pantry have received a boost, thanks to the efforts of Team Connolly and our amazing subcontractors, and a very helpful cash donation!
Connolly Resident Liaison Officer Michelle has been working alongside the team at the food pantry for a number of months, volunteering, meeting local residents and building relationships with the local community. She told us:
“RBH’s Strand Pantry, is more than just a place for food – they’re a lifeline for a lot of local people. A friendly face, a cuppa, and they even signpost people to more services, but they rely on generosity to keep going. Working with the team there, I realised that even a little bit of help goes a long way – that’s why I started volunteering.”

Michelle is a caring person and has played a pivotal role in enriching our members, with her caring approach – she has fostered a sense of community by bringing people together when members attend the pantry & has interacted among our diverse members & other volunteers. This diversity of interaction strengthens social cohesion, builds mutual respect, and creates more inclusive communities.
Michelle is a credit to your organisation and her family.”
Once Michelle explained the situation at The Strand, Connolly Contracts Manager Paul, reached out to our subcontractors who all pledged support with a cash donation, raising £1100.

The donation from Team Connolly and our friends will help the foodbank to keep doing their amazing work, ensuring that everyone has access to the food they need.
