Culture

We’re a family business. And to us, that means genuinely caring for each other, having each others’ backs and encouraging everyone to be the best they can be.

Our values

The beliefs that guide our behaviour

Everyone at Connolly rolls up their sleeves and mucks in together. When one person wins, we all win.
The person matters

You can’t look after others if you don’t look after yourself first. So we work hard but smart.
Be curious

We always ask ‘why’ and challenge the status quo. We also take time to understand and don’t jump to conclusions.
Be proud of what we do

The quality of our work matters, so we treat every home as if it were our own. We finish jobs fully, own our mistakes and ask for feedback.
Keep moving forward

We bring energy, enthusiasm and optimism to meeting clear goals, priorities and expectations.

Everything we do is focused on leaving the communities we work in, better than we found them.

Long term careers, not short term jobs

Wherever you start your career with Connolly, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and learn new ones. People who came to us with limited experience or qualifications now lead teams, manage projects and are building careers that are changing the story for their own family.

We have drivers who find they like chatting with customers and move into customer liaison roles. Or site managers who undergo extra training to become contracts managers. Caroline famously joined us as a customer manager, before working on sites and in contracts and eventually rising to be one of our most respected operations leaders.

We put deliberate, sustained investment into a person that compounds over time, creates loyalty, embeds our values and sends a signal to every other person in the team about what’s possible.

Making work simpler

Our HR app is a golden thread, helping everyone organise their work life in one easy-to-use platform.

  • Request time off and other HR admin
  • Keep track of your goals, self-assessments and your manager’s feedback
  • Log completed training courses, certifications and licences
  • Give a shout out to colleagues who’ve gone above and beyond
  • Get all the latest company news

Support if times are tough

Mental ill health in the construction industry is significantly higher than the national average, so we’ve partnered with leading charity Mates In Mind to offer support to our team.

  • Free, 24/7 helpline for anyone suffering a mental health crisis
  • Male and female qualified mental health first aiders throughout the business
  • Resources to help managers support a team member through specific challenges such as bereavement
  • A culture of openness about difficult thoughts and feelings

Connolly life
getting social

Of course, every family needs to let its hair down occasionally. From legendary Christmas parties to a celebratory lunch for a job well done, we mark special occasions. We also take part in charity and industry events, whilst the Connolly ramblers gather at weekends for hiking fun.

Everyone here is so warm and welcoming. Every day brings new challenges to solve, so I always feel like I’m learning.
