Team Connolly welcomes 10 new apprentices!!

Last Monday was a momentous day for Team Connolly as we officially welcomed 10 new apprentices to our ranks. This year’s recruitment drive was our biggest yet, and after sifting through nearly 200 applications and interviewing over 50 talented individuals, we’ve brought on a fantastic new cohort ready to begin their careers with us, gaining invaluable hands-on experience working alongside their mentors. These new apprentices will learn from our experienced professionals, gaining practical skills and on-the-job knowledge that’s essential for success.
Our CEO Chris Connolly said:
“Apprenticeships aren’t just something we do at Connolly; they’re who we are. It’s a legacy that started with my dad, Tony, who served his time as an apprentice himself. He built Team Connolly on that simple, powerful idea: you learn by doing.”
We’re thrilled to introduce our new apprentices, Herbie, Kade, Kieron, and Sam, (joiners), Liv and Andy (electricians), Kai (plasterer), Kyle, (painter), Darcy and Faye, (Customer Care)
Gearing up for your apprenticeship can be expensive, but we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to our partners over at Graham and Pinnacle, who very generously offered to support our trade apprentices, by providing funds and equipment, to make sure they were ready to start on site! Graham donated £1500 to our joiners and painters, and Pinnacle donated kits to our apprentice electricians
Lee from Pinnacle said: “Pinnacle Electrical Supplies (Bolton) Ltd are very proud to continue supporting the next generation of Connolly Electrical apprentices. With the help of our Buying Group Fegime UK and our supplier partners we were able to offer these tool kits to help young apprentices start their roles in a positive manner,” and Dom, branch manager at Graham Manchester added ” It is with great pride that Graham Manchester was able to support Connolly and the new apprentices. People development and securing constructions future is really key for our industry and this is just our small part in being able to support this”
Our Labour Resource Manager, Laura, is responsible for managing our apprentices, making sure they get exposure to different departments and projects. As she shared, “Our role as mentors isn’t just to assign tasks, but to be a source of support and guidance. We’re here to help our apprentices navigate the challenges and celebrate the wins over their two-year journey, ensuring they’re not just trained, but truly developed.”
We caught up with a few of our apprentices at the end of their first week to see how they were getting on.
- Faye, Trainee RLO: “I’ve absolutely loved this first week, it’s been so busy, but the site team have been amazing. The best bit so far has been meeting the residents and helping them get ready for the works.”
- Andy, Apprentice Electrician: Said his first week has been “great.”
- Kieron and Sam, Apprentice Joiners: Shared that their first week was “really good” and that “everyone has been really welcoming.”
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest apprentices. Their energy and enthusiasm are a fantastic addition to our company culture, and we’re excited to watch them grow into the next generation of Team Connolly.
