Supplier name: A Connolly Ltd
Publication date: 30th April 2024

Company Overview

Established in 1980, A Connolly Ltd worked Established as a limited company in 1980, A Connolly Ltd worked predominately as a sub-contract painting business in the housing, commercial and new build sectors of the industry.

Over the last 40 years the business has continued to develop and grow its service offering, focusing on its core strengths in order to enable the transformation into a regional main contractor in its own right.

Whilst A Connolly Ltd has continued to achieve sustainable growth, increasing turnover, employee numbers and long-term partnerships, a full business rebrand was completed in 2017. This rebrand introduced our new business name Connolly Ltd and also redefined our core business stream is housing planned maintenance, retrofit, damp and mould.

Connolly Ltd is a family-owned business which operates predominately in the North of England, North Wales and Yorkshire. With an annual turnover of around £60m.

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Connolly is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2038, this is in line with Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s target of 2038, ahead of the Central Government target of 2050.

Our plan is to reduce emissions our carbon emissions by 60% (or as far as possible) against our 2022 baseline, by 2038, with the remainder of our emissions to be off set.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2022
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Our organisation has not previously assessed or reported carbon emissions and therefore our baseline calculations have been taken from 2022, this is due to the improvement in accurate carbon foot printing for the company within this year, including the establishment of an in-house Sustainability Taskforce, committed to recording, and reducing carbon emissions across all of our operations.

The calculations below have been provided as accurately as possible, to the best of our knowledge, where gaps have been identified, an average spend estimate has been used, which provides a conservative estimate of emissions. Connolly are committed to working with our suppliers to gain accurate data, through our continuous improvement approach, this may mean a recalculation of data in the future.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. We predict that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 1963.7 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 5% year-on-year.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

We are in the process of completing a formal carbon reduction process, which will be rolled out company wide, which will include formal targets in-line with the SBT initiative.

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed over implemented over the previous years. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes is yet to be calculated:
